Q4 2023 Performance of Top Android Consumer Finance Apps in the UK

In the final quarter of 2023, the UK's Android consumer finance applications saw varying degrees of user engagement and download trends. Sensor Tower data offers insights into the performance of these apps.

Google Wallet maintained a steady download pace, starting at around 49K in the last week of September and reaching a peak of 95K in mid-December before dropping to 36K by year's end. The app's weekly active users (WAUs) fluctuated, with a notable increase from 759K to over 1M in late October, eventually dipping to 827K in the final week.

Similarly, Monzo - Mobile Banking experienced a reduction in downloads from 30K to 19K, while the WAUs showed more stability, starting at 1.29M and reaching a peak of 1.35M towards the end of November, then declining to 1.22M by the close of the quarter.

Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking downloads saw a downward trend from 19K to 14K, with active users also experiencing a slight decrease from 1.27M to 1.2M through the quarter.

Barclays UK downloads began at 15K, with a mid-quarter rise to 20K, but ended the period at around 14K. The WAUs for Barclays UK showed an overall increase, starting at 1.23M and peaking at 1.31M in late November, before closing the quarter at 1.2M.

Lastly, the Nationwide Banking App showed a slight increase in downloads from 13K to 14K from the beginning to the end of the quarter, while its WAUs saw a general increase from 773K to a high of 795K in mid-December, ending at 752K.
